GSA Office Products Catalogl GSA Tools CatalogThe GSA Supply Catalog Guide serves as amaster reference for the four commodity-oriented volumes. These volumes are maintainedin the supply department and are used when anitem cannot be found in the previously men-tioned IL or when additional information is re-quired on a specific item. Also, the GSA Guideprovides information on the regional offices andtheir individual areas of responsibility. FiguresII-2-6 and II-2-7 show the regional offices,addresses, telephone numbers, and other perti-nent information. Remember, this segment ofthe supply system is designed primarily for useby the civil agencies. The RP should use normalNavy supply channels if at all possible.U.S. Navy Chaplains ProgramSupport Guide (NAVPERS 15992)This publication, although not considered tobe a supply publication, is of primary interest tob o t h t h e c o m m a n d c h a p l a i n a n d R P .NAVPERS 15992 is divided into two sections.The first section provides a directory of activeduty chaplains, inactive duty chaplains, andTheological Student Program officers.Section two is referred to as the programsupport section and serves as a ready referencefor chaplains and RPs on budgeting and supplymatters. Specifically, this section contains infor-mation on ordering supplies and materialsneeded by the Command Religious Program.The remainder of the discussion on NAVPERS15992 will be devoted to explaining section twoof this publication. When it is necessary to ordersupplies having one of the FSCs shown in figureII-2-4, the RP should first consult section two ofthe latest edition of NAVPERS 15992 to see ifthe item is listed. Figure II-2-8 was extractedfrom this section. The information listed next toeach item is important supply data which isrequired to fill out the MILSTRIP requisitionform. Note the “Candlelighter and Snuffer” infigure II-2-8. This item will be used later in thischapter to explain MILSTRIP requisitioning. Atthat time, supply accounting data will beexplained in more detail.It is important for the RP to remember thatNAVPERS 15992 is used as an easy referencerather than as an up-to-date supply policypublication.Prices of items, among otherthings, change periodically and the personnel inthe supply department maintain the most cur-rent information including price lists. Therefore,the RP should consult with the supply personnelbefore filling out a MILSTRIP requisition form.Also, if an item is not listed in the Program Sup-port Guide, the personnel in the supply depart-ment will be able to assist the RP in determiningif the item is carried under a national stocknumber.Civilian Ecclesiastical SupplyCatalogsThese catalogs, which provide a comprehen-sive list of church goods, vestments, and articlesof devotion, are published by private com-panies. Normally, items ordered from thesecompanies cost more than the same items carriedin the Federal Supply Classification System.
